Ms. Agosto serves as Assistant Director for Equal Opportunity Programs and Retention Services at the University of California at Davis. Previously she served as Coordinator for Service Learning and Program Director for CUNY Corps at the City University of New York (CUNY), and as the Assistant Director for Student Activities and Leadership Development at Hunter College. Julie holds a Masters degree in Higher Education Administration from Baruch College, is currently working on her Ed.D. at Pepperdine University. agosto@rootstrong.org

Dr. Arauz is a former classroom teacher, and is a tireless advocate for equity in education and immigrant rights. Dr. Arauz has developed unique cultural resiliency assessments used to improve teaching, admissions, and HR functions across sectors. JuanCarlos earned his doctorate at the University of San Francisco.

Ms. Bello is a linguist, fluent in seven languages, and teaches French language at Zamani College high school in Kaduna. Her experience includes extensive travel, including earning her Master’s degree in English, French and Russian languages at Pyatigorsk State Institute for Foreign Languages in Russia.

Ms. Bustos also serves as an advisor to Colorado State University’s Career Center, trustee for Museo de las Americas, and is a former director of the ALPFA, Inc. Brigette is an experienced talent management, executive communications, and governance professional. Prior to joining Deloitte in 2006, she led the Colorado State University College of Business diversity program. Brigette earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Colorado State University.

Ms. Muhammad currently serves as a Program Manager at Teachers College, Columbia University. Previously she served as the Coordinator for Special Projects and Professional Development at the Ernesto Malave Leadership Academy at the City University of New York (CUNY), and as the Assistant Dean for Administration at the Metropolitan College of New York. Christina holds a Masters degree in Counseling and Guidance in Colleges and Community Agencies, and is currently working on her Ed.D. in Higher and Postsecondary Education, at New York University (NYU) . muhammad@rootstrong.org

Ms. Luo previously led the Sina Finance New York team, covering IPO news from the New York Stock Exchange trading floor and Nasdaq headquarters. Born and raised in Chengdu, China, Qimei received her Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Corporate Communications from the College of Staten Island at the City University of New York (CUNY). Ms. Luo is also an alumna of the Malave Leadership Academy, CUNY.

Mr. Romero is a graduate of the Malave Leadership Academy. He is also a co-founder of the Roosevelt Institute Campus Network at City College of New York, and served as the International President of Phi Theta Kappa honor society while studying at LaGuardia Community College. He went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree from City College in Political Science. Prior to joining Grupo Internacional de Paz, Edgar served as Organizational Change Management Specialist with Banesco Banco Universal in Venezuela.

Lieutenant Colonel (Retired), Army National Guard

Dr. Stanley served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army National Guard, most recently as the Reserve Component Advisor to the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES). A graduate of Florida A&M University, she holds a Master’s from University of Minnesota and a Ph.D. in Christian Counseling and Psychology from Louisiana Baptist University.
